Frequently Asked Questions
Learn more about ToughOne
Does ToughONE™ material require post-curing?
Yes. To achieve optimal mechanical performance, dimensional stability, and a high Heat Deflection Temperature (HDT), parts printed with ToughONE™ must undergo post-curing. Stratasys recommends using ProLight™ or ProBleacher™ systems, with curing recipes ranging from 5 to 12 hours at 45°C, depending on part thickness and geometry.
What colours are available with ToughONE™?
ToughONE™ is supplied in white, but it fully supports PolyJet™ multi-color capabilities. Depending on the configuration, you can apply colors using RGB, CMYK, Digital Materials (DM), or 2D textures. The ToughONE Pure configuration offers the widest color and aesthetic options, while the ToughONE Reinforced configuration prioritizes structural performance.
What are the main benefits of ToughONE™ compared to standard PolyJet materials?
ToughONE™ delivers higher impact resistance, increased strength, improved flexibility, and higher HDT compared to standard PolyJet materials. It is especially well suited for functional prototypes, thin walls, snap fits, drilled or milled features, and bosses for self-tapping screws—while maintaining excellent surface quality and ease of use.
Can ToughONE™ be used for thin-walled or functional parts?
Yes. ToughONE™ is designed specifically to support thin walls, pins, and complex geometries. For thin-walled parts that require maximum structural integrity and resistance to creep, the ToughONE Reinforced (ToughONE + RGD531) configuration is recommended. For flexible applications, such as phone cases, ToughONE Pure is ideal.
Which printers and print modes support ToughONE™?
ToughONE™ is supported on J850™ Pro/Prime printer. It can be printed in High Mix and High Quality modes using GrabCAD Print™ version 1.100 or above. For best results, ToughONE™ should be used with SUP705B™ support material and an active air extraction system.
